Oh Rose, so sorry to hear that you are still on this ridiculous waiting game. You must be feeling very under the weather with the ongoing infection, it can make you so weary after a while. Fingers crossed it gets blasted by this latest batch of anti-bios. Vertigo, I know not a jot about but it sounds horrible, hope the pills work well. Good luck at the dentist.

At this rate the blinking Humira will be passed its use by date

Thank you as well. Yes I feel so cheesed off with this ridiculous waiting game it does get you
down, you know this more than most of us and I am in no way in the same boat as
you, but it is enough to make me feel sorry for myself. Anyway been up an hour only
and going to sit in the garden this afternoon as it is beautiful down here in Somerset. A little warmth
does 'awaken' me. . . Yes vertigo is dreadul any one that has had it will back me up
everything spins. Doc gave me tablets so a bit more settled today.. .. However I
have rung in sick today I couldn't go and look at a computer and deal with customers today.
Feel bad but since last years bout of sickness I do tell myself I must come first now. This
is the 2nd day this month so worked 18 hrs this month and had 12 sick and 6 as a holiday day.

Sorry you are still on antibiotics as well. Urine infections are very painful. I hope it clears up
quickly for you. Are you still on mtx then Suzanne ? It is annoying for me as the Humira
has been in my fridge over a month and I cannot use it. Next week I am sure ... fingers crossed

Hello All

Just an update from little old me.

Well on Royal Wedding day I had severe throat and glands and also an infection 'down below' ended up
going to local Hospital as was passing blood spots. I was put on a course of antibiotics for 3 days
and problem 'below' appeared to disappear, although throat and glands disappeared just 4 days ago.
However, my problem 'below' decided to re appear on Thursday. So off to my GP (after a telephone
consultation - which is ludicrous) to find out why ? Could not tell me, examined me, took swab, and
yes you guessed on 800 mg antibiotics again for 7 days.

SO STILL NOT STARTED HUMIRA.


grr grr. I am off to South of France a week on Wed - nice warm weather hopefully so really looking
forward to that. Even if I am better before I go it has decided by RA nurse to wait to start Humira until
I come back from France.

So that's my date.

hi Rose,

you sure have been through it with infections.

i mentioned i had a UTI infection a few weeks back and to be honest it's stil not totally cleared up after 3 courses of Anti-Biotics.

the last sample came back as Satisfactory but i don't feel right when i go to the loo still, it's not awful pain just slight discomfort ... so i took another sample in last Thursday to my GP Nurse when i had bloods done and it still showing low trace infection ( but that wasn't enough to show up in the results from the Lab )

so i am going to get these latest results tomorrow and see what's what.

i've started drinking Cranberry juice since Saturday as the Nurse said this has quite a good result rate.

if i don't hear soon about starting on the Humira i am going to contact my Rheumy Nurse this week and tell her the state of play.

i really hope this lot of Anti-Biotics do the trick for you,

Thank you all for your support. However my Doc rang this evening to say STOP taking the antibiotics.
He had the result from the Hospital to say that I have a Group A strepticocal bug (sorry not the correct spelling)
So he has sent to the chemist for me a high hit for 10 days Pencillan tablets. urgh . . feel totally fed up. I hope
it clears up within the next 8 days as I cetainly don't need this going away.

Sorry, I will stop moaning 1 day

Lets hope this new course of antibiotics will now do the trick, it looks very promising bearing in mind they have given you this diagnosis. I m sure you will feel much better for your holiday.

I m sure really Rose you shouldn t be at work with how you are just now, but with RA I think it makes us pretty tough cookies and we try to do as much as we can just to try and lead a half normal life. Hope you feel bit better tomorrow.
